Stoel Rives LLP has an immediate opening for an Accounting Assistant in our Boise office. This position exists primarily to provide accounts receivable support to the Accounting Department, attorney, practice assistants and clients. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Accounts Receivable

Responsible for responding to inquiries from clients, billing attorneys, practice assistants, and other firm personnel regarding client accounts, which may include preparing summaries for clients of amounts billed, paid, and owed.

Responsible for completing new vendor forms.

Responsible for processing credit card payments.

2. Trust

Review deposits, set up disbursement requests, send communication regarding account balances and uncashed checks.

3. Write-Offs

Ensure all write-offs over the designated amount have proper forms and approvals, and follow up on write-offs without forms

4. Deadlines/Accuracy

Accountable for meeting deadlines and producing consistently accurate work product.

5. Communication/Teamwork

Must communicate well with others regarding the status of projects, questions, deadlines, etc. and work effectively as part of the Accounting Department team, including providing overflow assistance when necessary.

Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES

Must possess the following capabilities: technical knowledge in the area of proper accounting procedures, keyboard skills, attention to detail, ability to learn quickly, oral communication, high work standards, customer service orientation, teamwork/cooperation, planning and organizing,

tolerance for stress, and follow-up, written communication, interpersonal skills, and initiative. Must be able to encounter rapid changes, work at a fast pace, work on a variety of projects, and work with detailed information.

Technical Knowledge

Must have demonstrated experience in the application of proper accounting procedures. Must be experienced in using Microsoft programs and other finance applications. Must be able to operate technical equipment remotely. Must have the ability to learn new or updated versions of the firm’s accounting system as needed to effectively execute job duties.

Physical and Mental Capabilities

Must be able to read and comprehend handwritten and typed notes or instructions. Must be able to record and deliver phone messages. Must be able to type on a computer keyboard in a sitting position for extended periods of time during a 7.5-hour workday. Must be able to carry files and pouches of files short distances.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in math, finance, accounting or related field is required or high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years’ relevant experience.

NORMAL WORK HOURS

This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime compensation. Regular office hours are 8:30 - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The pay range for this position is $40,000 - $67,000; however, the base compensation presented to a candidate may vary based on skills and overall experience. This salary range is based on market location.
