Job Description

The Assistant Controller reports and works closely with the Firm’s controller for a variety of critical tasks within the organization. Key responsibilities include managing vendor relationships to ensure efficient procurement processes, ensuring compliance with all tax filings and requirements, and developing and supervising internal policies and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness. The role also involves exercising independent judgment in areas such as finance, accounting, budgeting, insurance, purchasing, and procurement. Additionally, the Assistant Controller will oversee HR tasks for the administration department, which includes maintaining employee files, preparing offer letters, researching benefit questions, and processing 401K activities. This position requires a meticulous approach and a deep understanding of both financial and HR functions to support the overall objectives of the company.

Key Responsibilities for Assistant Controller includes:

  • Vendor management
  • Familiarity with tax filings and requirements
  • Developing and supervising internal policies and procedures
  • Exercising independent judgement regarding finance, accounting, budgeting, insurance, purchasing, procurement, and similar activities
  • Overseeing HR tasks for the administration department such as: maintenance of employee files, offer letters, researching benefit questions, processing 401K activities, etc.

Salary: $80,000 -125,000 per year (compensated based on experience)

Qualifications

Job Qualifications for Assistant Controller:

  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish (preferred but not required)
  • Ten (10) years minimum experience in accounting
  • Strong work ethic
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrate organizational, written, and verbal skills
  • Strong process and managerial skills
