Associate Attorney

Benjamin Law Firm
On-site
Kansas City, Missouri, United States

Do you want to fight to protect the rights of good people who may have made a mistake that shouldn't haunt them for life?

The BENJAMIN LAW FIRM for DWI & CRIMINAL DEFENSE is seeking an experienced associate attorney to join our team. We want an attorney with a Missouri and Kansas license and with at least 3 years of experience in Criminal Defense, who ideally has had more than 1 jury trial as first chair.

We have offices in Belton and Kansas City. We will have a new, larger office in KCMO this year, and in the meantime, our lawyers are able to work remotely from a home office as needed. We are an entrepreneurial criminal defense law firm that is on track for aggressive growth and we need a detail-oriented, highly organized, passionate, emotionally mature, and self-directed person who can take on a wide variety of criminal and DWI cases.

We want to be known for helping clients come out of an extremely emotional process feeling as though they are a better person, in a better position, and that they had a team behind them that really cared and fought for them. We are growing fast, and we need an associate attorney who can hit the ground running.

This position will be responsible for important work, including:

  • Communicate empathetically and professionally with clients
  • Speak persuasively in front of juries and judges
  • Negotiate passionately and relentlessly for clients
  • Conduct a strategic analysis of cases to get the best results for clients

If these statements appeal to you, then you may be our associate attorney:

  • You are empathetic to those in high-stress situations where their lives and livelihoods are on the line, especially with many who struggle with mental illness or addiction
  • You enjoy digging into the facts and the law to help a client win their case
  • You excel in public speaking and being persuasive
  • You are very well prepared with a sickening degree of attention to detail
  • You excel in legal strategy, legal research and writing
  • You have a grasp of constitutional and criminal law and know how to strategically analyze a case for a client
  • Your middle name is “No Drama”
  • You are an awesome juggler of tasks and can change gears quickly

We love to help people learn and grow, but we need an associate attorney who has some experience in criminal and DWI law. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand-holding.
