Under minimal supervision, the Associate Director of Litigation & Complex Collections directs and coordinates staff and daily workflow for the legal support team and attorneys of the Litigation & Complex Collections to attain and exceed firm and department financial goals, department goals, and client performance expectations, while maximizing client satisfaction and developing positive moral to promote employee retention.


Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks: 



  • Assigns and reviews processes and workflows and makes adjustments necessary to improve efficiency and effectiveness with preparing and producing legal documents and completing milestone steps for staff and attorneys.

  • Ensures work is performed in a timely manner and in compliance with established firm, department and client policies and guidelines in accordance with federal, state and county law.

  • Works with the lead attorneys in each office which has a Litigation & Complex Collections group to meet and exceed financial goals.

  • Drives innovation and transformation in the department embracing a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Acts as a proactive change agent for the department.

  • Develops Monthly Performance goals for all assigned staff and the supporting monitoring procedures to insure achievement.

  • Responds to employee’s questions regarding unusual, complex, or technical work-related matters.

  • Assists attorneys with management of complex case files and pleadings.

  • Promotes and maintains positive relationships with new and existing clients, becoming a key contact for high-level issues.  Develops client satisfaction measurements, ensuring that work is performed according to client guidelines and that client communications are accurate and timely.  Ensures that client issues are acknowledged and addressed in a timely manner.

  • Focuses on improving customer satisfaction and provides additional, value added services in support of our clients.

  • Evaluates employee performance, time management, staffing levels, administers discipline, and maintains proper records.

  • Creates and analyzes internal procedures and strategies, including process enhancements and technology utilization, to improve the overall quality, productivity and efficiency of the Litigation & Complex Collections Oversees design, development, installation and implementation of resulting new programs and systems.

  • Maintains a high level of visibility within all areas of Litigation & Complex Collections and travels to locations as needed.

  • Visits clients throughout the year on direction from the Business Unit Leader of Litigation & Complex Collections.

  • Participates in interviewing, selection, and coordinating training for new employees.

  • Participates in long-range planning for the department with respect to client demands and department/firm vision.

  • Coordinates and oversees special projects.

  • Complete all required training applicable to assigned position.

  • Additional duties as requested or required.


 Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in business management or related field is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with similar level of responsibility is required; experience in the industry is preferred.

  • Displays strong leadership skills and the ability to deal with difficult situations.

  • Change agent with proven track record.

  • Ability to build and lead high-performing teams.

  • Ability to handle complex work and/or clients.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.

  • Knowledge of applicable collection laws.

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft applications which include Word and Excel.
