Position Summary: 

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Audio Specialist to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for recording, editing, mixing, and mastering audio content to ensure the highest quality sound for various media platforms. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Record, edit, mix, and master high-quality audio for client documentary and interview videos. 
  • Clean and enhance audio tracks by removing noise, adjusting levels, and applying EQ, compression, and other audio effects on body cams, dash cam, and video surveillance.  
  • Collaborate with producers, content creators, and other team members to meet project specifications and deadlines. 
  • Maintain and organize audio files, project folders, and backups. 
  • Ensure audio content meets technical standards for different distribution platforms. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve audio-related issues during recording and post-production. 
  • Manage and maintain audio equipment, software, and plugins. 
  • Stay updated with the latest audio production techniques and industry trends. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, Music Production, or a related field preferred. 
  • Proven experience as an audio editor or engineer with a strong portfolio of work. 
  • Proficiency in digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Logic Pro, Bitwig, or similar software. 
  • Strong understanding of audio recording techniques, signal flow, and acoustics. 
  • Knowledge of audio processing tools, plugins, and effects. And AI sound processing platforms 
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience with sound design and audio restoration 
  • Knowledge of music theory and composition. 
  • Familiarity with podcast production and live sound engineering. 
  • Basic understanding of video editing software and synchronization of audio with video. 

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.   
  • Stand/Sit – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.  
  • Walk – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.  
  • Use of hands/fingers to handle or feel – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.  
  • Climbs stairs – May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.    
  • Carry weight/lift - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.

Chicago Pay Range

$63,000 - $65,000 USD
