Bankruptcy Paralegal Job Details: 

Snell & Wilmer L.L.P., one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the western United States, is currently seeking a full time Bankruptcy Paralegal to join its Bankruptcy practice group in our Seattle office. 

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bankruptcy Paralegal with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our legal team in Seattle Office. You will assist attorneys in managing all stages of corporate bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 11 filings, creditor negotiations, restructuring, and bankruptcy litigation. This role requires strong legal research, organizational, and communication skills.

The position responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Case Management: Assist in the preparation, filing, and management of bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and related court documents.
  • Document Drafting: Draft and proofread legal documents such as motions, pleadings, affidavits, and correspondence.
  • Court Filings: Prepare and electronically file documents with federal and state bankruptcy courts using CM/ECF (Case Management/Electronic Case Files).
  • Legal Research: Conduct legal research on bankruptcy laws, creditor rights, and financial restructuring to support attorneys' strategies.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to gather and organize necessary documentation, ensuring compliance with filing requirements.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze financial statements and debtor schedules to identify key issues and inconsistencies.
  • Meeting Support: Assist attorneys during creditor meetings, hearings, and court proceedings by preparing exhibits, summaries, and other supporting materials.
  • Case Tracking: Maintain detailed case files and calendars to ensure deadlines and requirements are met.
  • Coordination: Liaise with court personnel, trustees, creditors, and opposing counsel as necessary.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Education: Baccalaureate degree and paralegal certificate from ABA-accredited paralegal training program or equivalent combination of education and experience, required
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a paralegal in bankruptcy or corporate law
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficiency in bankruptcy software and court filing systems (e.g., CM/ECF).
    • Strong knowledge of federal and state bankruptcy laws.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Familiarity with corporate restructuring, mergers, and acquisitions
    • Must possess substantive knowledge of e-discovery, including document collection, review, and production
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while delivering consistent, quality work-product to both attorneys and clients
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • High attention to detail and ability to manage tight deadlines.
    • Familiarity with court filing procedures, including e-filing systems.

The salary range for this position is $100,000.00 to $115,000.00 annually, based on years of experience.
