Description

Gentry Locke Attorneys is recruiting a full-time, experienced Billing Processor to join our team in Roanoke, VA! The Billing Processor will be responsible for all billing-related functions including, but not limited to specialty billing; updating case, timekeeper, rate and budget information on multiple e-billing websites; creating and submitting electronic invoice files for submission; and resolving e-billing issues; and maintaining company files. A successful candidate will be ambitious and organized, and work well in a fast-paced, team environment. Candidates must have 3+ years of direct billing experience. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential. The willingness and ability to learn and expand on current technology skills including versatile cloud apps is required in order to navigate the robust technology package the firm maintains.

Responsibilities



  • Maintain company files and enter client/case overrides in the accounting system.

  • Perform all electronic and specialty billing-related functions including updating case/timekeeper/rate/budget information on multiple e-billing websites, creating and submitting electronic invoice files for submission, resolving any e-billing issues and creating invoices for electronic mail billing.

  • Assist with conflicts of interest checks for the firm, including independent, in-depth research of parties, as needed.

  • Responsible for processing month-end reports.

  • Assist the Billing Specialist with proformas while adhering to client billing guidelines.

  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required or Preferred:



  • 3-5 years’ experience with billing principles and practices required. Experience with legal billing preferred.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.

  • Ability to think critically, concentrate and pay close attention to detail.

  • Excellent proofreading skills.

  • Willingness to learn and apply new technology.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
