About the Role






The Billing Specialist is an integral part of Latham’s Billing team and will be responsible for maintaining and managing the master billing file for assigned practice offices at the firm, while opening new client matters and timekeepers, validating complex rate logic, checking data for accuracy and completeness, and following up for missing or incomplete data. This role will be located in either our Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco or Austin office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. 









Responsibilities & Qualifications






Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Verifying and opening all client matters and timekeeper master setups, including billing rates and exception rate hierarchies
  • Confirming client arrangements for special rate needs
  • Ensuring the file setup is done appropriately
  • Evaluating and inputting the appropriate billing and exception rates into the Elite billing system

 

We’d love to hear from you if you:

 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Possess the ability to comprehend and accurately perform mathematical functions
  • Exhibit analytical skills needed to correctly comprehend and communicate data

 

And have:

 

  • A high school diploma or an equivalent; with a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent, preferably
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in legal billing or billing audit within a professional services organization
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience with Elite Billing system, preferably
