The Business Systems Analyst IT, Sr. acts as a project coordinator, business analyst, tester and mentor for staff. This position requires involvement in projects as a Business Systems Analyst in addition to facilitating a group of Business Analysts to provide technical expertise in the analysis, configuration and testing of business applications. In this role, analysis expertise, leadership and person-to-person communication skills are of equal importance.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
- Consults with clients and system users to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, usage, formatting, and security requirements.
- Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures.
- Analyzes business processes and user requirements to document project scope.
- Creates and maintains moderately complex report, batch, interactive, and subfile programs.
- Writes and maintains functional specifications for new or modified business systems.
- Develops, coordinates, and implements plans to test business and functional processes during system development and quality assurance testing.
- Identifies program, application, and system problems and resolutions.
- Tracks and documents change to functional and business specifications.
- Creates or assists others in the writing of user documentation, instructions, and procedures.
- Monitors and documents post-implementation problems and revision requests.
- Assists less experienced staff in implementing technical solutions.
- Analyzes operational errors and provides guidance to development unit as needed.
- Manages client implementation projects across platforms.
- Complete all required training applicable to assigned position.
- Additional duties as requested or required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or business administration.
- 10 years’ relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Visio and Oracle
- Data analysis and Project Management skills
