The Position:


The Case Manager is responsible for a portfolio of cases and acts as the point of contact for all attorney clients and medical experts involved with those matters. This position coordinates all events associated with the case portfolio and includes personal interaction with the experts, their staff and our clients. Case Managers stay in frequent contact with clients and engaged experts delivering high touch service, keeping them apprised of project status. The successful candidate will be motivated, creative, analytical, efficient, will have the ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion, and will have superior organizational and relationship management skills.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and demonstrate IMS Core Values.
  • Work with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants and insurance professionals to assist with the delivery of initial case materials and additional records throughout the case.
  • Provide fee schedules and CVs to attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants and insurance professionals to assist them with their selection of medical and billing experts.
  • Manage the ongoing medical expert commitments throughout the legal progression of cases.
  • Educate the expert as to roles and responsibilities in an engagement with Juris Medicus.
  • Work with the client and expert to schedule and meet all deadlines.
  • Serve as the liaison for active cases, responding to questions, requests, needs, and updates.
  • Working together with the sales team, act as point of contact for new and current clients.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for all expert inquiries and dispute coordination and resolution.
  • Actively work to service and improve all aspects of an expert engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent in the legal field.
  • 2+ years as a Paralegal or highly qualified Legal Assistant.

Computer Skills:

  • High proficiency with MS Office specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of legal database systems a plus.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with the legal system and law practices.
  • Knowledge of the discovery process and its relationship to the Texas and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work to achieve position objectives and goals.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology a plus.
  • Demonstrates initiative, follow through and the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve creatively, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Must be able to work independently with very little supervision.
  • Willingness to be a team player and assist with team projects and needs.
