Key details:

  • Position: Paralegal - Client Services
  • Location: Albany, NY, US
  • Working hours available: Full-time daytime shifts: 9:30 am - 6:00 pm OR 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (with a 30-minute lunch break)
  • Night and weekend shifts may become an option post-training completion.


Additional information:

  • No prior law firm experience is required - all essential training is covered and compensated for.

Essential Functions;

  • Answer incoming phone calls, outbound follow-up, and address inquiries via live chat and website submissions
  • Utilize the electronic case management system to initiate new cases and schedule follow-up tasks as needed
  • Conduct meetings with individuals who visit in person to gather necessary details to assess their eligibility based on the firm's criteria
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of PC applications, including Windows, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills
  • Adept at multitasking
  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and compassionately with claimants who are dealing with unfamiliar circumstances


Preferred Experience:

  • Four-year degree
  • Prior law firm/legal field or customer service experience
  • Bilingual a plus


Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
  • Occasionally ascends/descends stairs
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with coworkers, clients, and/or outside vendors
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
