Currently, we are seeking a Department Assistant for our main office located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ideal candidate must have expert level computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment. We are seeking an experienced legal professional with strong skills who seeks advancement and growth and the opportunity to eventually learn to perform Paralegal duties. This is an excellent opportunity to continue an established legal career in a friendly and team oriented environment.


Β Duties:



  • Prepares conflict information for submission.

  • Preparation of retainer agreements for final review.

  • Maintains files and records, to include file opening and closing, according to departmental policies and procedures.

  • Enters and maintains client contact information in client database according to departmental policies and procedures.

  • Assists with general clerical and secretarial duties as requested, which may include assembling packages and other correspondence.

  • Assists with telephone screening and routing to appropriate personnel.

  • Assists with month-end billing processes.

  • Acts as the point person between their regional office and the marketing department. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and representing the firm at various events such as seminars, trade shows, educational workshops, and webinars.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:



  • High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred.

  • A minimum of two years related experience in a law firm of corporate legal department environment required.
