Prairie State Legal Services, Inc. is seeking an outstanding candidate to fill the new role of Community Engagement Coordinator. This role reports to the Community Engagement Manager and is responsible for providing administrative support and coordination for PSLS' community engagement efforts in all 36 of PSLS' counties. The work of the Community Engagement Coordinator supports the organization in achieving its mission of providing equal access to justice and high-quality legal services to underserved communities by ensuring that community engagement efforts are well-organized and implemented.


Responsibilities
Among other duties as assigned, the Community Engagement Coordinator will:



  • Coordinate requests for certificates of insurance for community engagement events

  • Assist with program-wide community engagement events as assigned, including reserving event locations, sending out communications, managing RSVP process, coordinating food

  • Coordinate large Community Partner communications, including data entry and maintenance in a centralized database

  • Coordinate with the Executive Office Manager to ensure timesheet submission/compliance for the Community Engagement Department

  • Coordinate the MOU process, including initial requests, ensuring General Counsel review, and serving as the liaison in MOU negotiations with partner agencies

  • Serve as note-taker during weekly CE meetings and assist the Manager of Community Engagement with follow-up

  • Liaison with PSLS Manager of Communications regarding PSLS flyer distribution

  • Monitor grant deliverables


Salary and Benefits
The Community Engagement Coordinator position is a full-time position at 37.5 hours per week. PSLS offers a salary competitive with similar organizations. The Community Engagement Coordinator position salary range is $42,000 - $55,334 annually per year for candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and increase with relevant experience. Qualifications



  • Preferred to be resident of the Quad City service area

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent plus two years of relevant work experience OR Associate's degree in related field required

  • Experience and passion for working with low-income and underserved populations strongly preferred

  • Proficient with computers and online tools

  • Moderate travel is necessary; valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation is required

  • Excellent organizational skills and very detail-oriented

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
