About the Position:

This role is perfect for a seasoned attorney with a solid foundation in criminal law, whether gained through defense work or prosecution, who is prepared to advance in their legal career. You will be responsible for representing clients in state criminal cases, defending their rights, and contributing to the firm's commitment to delivering exceptional legal services.

  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with clients, whether at the office or detention centers, to assess their legal requirements and develop an optimal case strategy.
  • Supervise a diverse caseload that covers misdemeanors and felonies, managing each case from inception to resolution.
  • Attend hearings and trials conducted in state courts located in Northern Virginia to represent clients effectively.
  • Support clients by preparing, filing, and presenting legal documents such as court motions and memoranda to state judges in Northern Virginia.
  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in criminal defense is preferred, which should include handling felony cases and conducting jury trials.
  • Proven track record of effectively handling both state and federal criminal cases is essential.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must for successful client representation in and out of the courtroom.
