ABOUT EQUAL JUSTICE WORKS


Equal Justice Works (EJW) is the nation’s largest facilitator of opportunities in public interest law. We achieve this through creating Fellowship programs for lawyers and community organizers, hosting the largest national public interest law career fair, advocating for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and supporting law students pursuing public interest law careers.


We bring together an extensive community of law schools, law students, lawyers, community organizers, legal services organizations, and supporters to promote a lifelong commitment to public service and equal justice. Following their Fellowships, more than 85% of our Fellows remain in public service positions, continuing to pursue equal justice for under-resourced communities across the country.

 


POSITION OVERVIEW


Equal Justice Works is seeking a resourceful, imaginative, and well-organized Digital Marketing & Communications Coordinator to support the strategy, management, and publishing of all content across our social media channels. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator with strong writing, graphic design, social media, and data analytics skills and possesses a passion for increasing access to justice for underserved communities. The Digital Marketing & Communications Coordinator reports to the Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications.


 


RESPONSIBILITIES


Social Media Strategy



  • Support social media strategies by promoting organization, increasing brand visibility, and driving engagement

  • Explore opportunities for organization to have presence on new and emerging social media platforms

  • Evaluate presence on existing social media platforms


Content Creation



  • Create engaging and visually appealing content and graphics for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others, tailored to target audiences and marketing objectives

  • Ensure brand consistency in marketing and social media messages

  • Edit and post video and multimedia content as needed


Content Calendar



  • Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting across social media channels, coordinating with internal teams to align with overall marketing objectives and initiatives


Social Media Campaigns



  • Plan and execute social media campaigns and promotions, including budget planning, content ideation, and publishing schedules,  to support marketing initiatives, events, and product launches, tracking performance metrics and optimizing strategies for maximum impact

  • Update regular analytics reports in support of the organization’s social media strategy and share social media performance with stakeholder groups


Community Management/Social Listening



  • Monitor and engage with EJW’s social media audience by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner, fostering positive relationships and brand advocacy

Qualifications

 


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE



  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of two years of experience managing social media channels and analyzing content for an organization brand required

  • Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and content creation

  • Portfolio of social media content that illustrates creative thinking and brings together a variety of visuals (photos, video, etc.)


 


SKILLS



  • Self-starter with strong technical background, talent for writing creative copy, designing, and modifying graphics, and managing social media to create engaging, brand-focused content

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an eye for detail and creativity

  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X), success metrics, best practices, and trends and management platforms (e.g., Sprout, Hootsuite)

  • Knowledge of SEO and content marketing principles

  • Demonstrated capacity to use analytics (social and website) to inform insights that drive strategy 

  • Ability to interpret complex subject matter and multifaceted content and identify compelling themes, quotes, soundbites to highlight attention-grabbing social media posts

  • Excellent project management skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with a range of complexity in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with teams and provide top-notch customer service

  • Solutions-oriented with superior problem solving and judgment

  • Ability to discern future trends in the digital content and social media space and act proactively

  • Passion for social impact and commitment to upholding Equal Justice Works’ mission, vision, values, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles


LOCATION


Daily activities are conducted in a typical office environment. EJW currently adheres to a hybrid work model whereby employees who live within a reasonable commuting area within the Washington, DC metropolitan area are required to be in person in-office two times per week. 



  • Regular travel is expected to be less than 10%.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS


The salary range for the Digital Marketing & Communications Coordinator position is $50,000 - $59,600, based on experience. EJW offers a comprehensive suite of benefits designed to support your total health and wellbeing, including unlimited PTO (Paid Time Off); additional paid holiday leave the week between Christmas and the New Year; sixteen weeks of paid parental leave for those with EJW for six months or more; excellent medical and dental insurance with Equal Justice Works paying 100% for employee premiums and 75% for dependent premiums; student loan repayment assistance; a $1000 professional development stipend per year; and access to free self-paced training programs
