About the Role






The Director of Administration - Boston is an integral part of Latham’s Office Administrative Leadership team and will be responsible for managing all business services for the office, while translating strategy into actionable deliverables to meet administrative and business goals, ensuring that the activities of various business services verticals align with and support the overall strategic goals of the office. This role will be located in our Boston office. Occasional travel may be required.









Responsibilities & Qualifications






Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Identifying, managing, and mitigating risks to the organization; ensuring process efficiency, optimal resource allocation, well-being, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
  • Monitoring and analyzing financial Key Performance Indicators; designing and implementing strategies to improve the financial performance, productivity, and efficiency of the office
  • Functioning as a liaison across business services, managing relationships and ensuring consistent communication among supporting departments and teams; overseeing physical office space management with internal and/or external teams and leading various special projects ensuring timely and successful completion, including seating strategies, maintenance, renovations, expansions, relocations, consolidations, and other key operational objectives; staying abreast of current and emerging market trends to make recommendations for the business and operational strategy for the office
  • In the Boston practice office, aiding partners in the development of their market-leading practices, demonstrating and leveraging familiarity with individual partners’ practices and firmwide platforms
  • Generating performance evaluations and recommending salary increases; working with Human Capital & Talent to recruit, hire, train, coach, and manage the performance of employees
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

 

We’d love to hear from you if you:

 

  • Exhibit general management skills, including the ability to oversee the P&L, strategic planning, stakeholder management, risk avoidance, and program management
  • Possess the ability to maintain composure and resilience under pressure, skillfully navigating challenges and unforeseen obstacles in a manner that reflects the firm's values and objectives
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership skills (i.e., organizing, planning, problem-solving, decision-making) necessary for effective management
  • Display the ability to think creatively and provide strategic support to senior management

 

And have:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent in Business or a related field; a JD, MBA, related master’s degree, or an equivalent, preferably
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible office management experience in legal or professional services environment
