Summary






The Director of Marketing, Client Engagement (Director) is a leader within the Marketing Department and supports the Firm’s overall strategy by leading marketing efforts through comprehensive initiatives that position the Firm to expand brand awareness and exposure, increase engagement, and create impactful experiences for clients and key stakeholders.

 

These marketing initiatives may include a variety of coordinated activities such as events, sponsorships and speaking opportunities, advertising, social media campaigns, networking associations, and other engagement efforts. The Director will lead a team of geographically distributed business professionals who provide a consistent, high-quality experience for our internal and external stakeholders. The Director, along with their team, will identify opportunities to strengthen the Firm’s profile and position in key markets; leverage the Firm’s people, knowledge, and resources for maximum impact; and facilitate communication and collaboration within the team, across the Marketing Department and throughout the Firm.

The Director is expected to be both strategic and tactical, with strong management and leadership skills to coach a high-performance team that delivers measurable results for the Firm with client experience at the heart of implementation. They perform all responsibilities with a clear commitment to the Firm’s overall strategy, providing superior service to lawyers and overseeing a strong, efficient, and forward-looking team.









Duties and Responsibilities






  • Develop a deep understanding of the Firm’s strategy, key clients, and relevant markets, including insight into legal service needs, industry developments, competitors, and business environment in each market in order to define marketing strategies that will enhance the Firm’s position and drive client retention and loyalty
  • Provide counsel and support to practice and industry team directors, liaisons, and lawyers to integrate effective marketing strategies to pursue new business by strengthening existing relationships as well as targeting new opportunities that align with the Firm’s strategy
  • Leverage technology to enhance brand visibility and client engagement through content automation, data-driven decision-making, and improved personalization to clients and contacts
  • Collaborate with Firm business professionals to employ data intelligence and analytics to gather client insights to tailor marketing efforts that meet the nuanced demands of our diverse client base
  • Collaborate across the Department to create and leverage compelling content across various channels, including digital, social media, and email to engage target audiences and drive client awareness
  • Develop a regular cadence of reporting to Department and Firm management, including metrics that help measure progress toward established objectives
  • Engage the appropriate lawyer and business professional resources to enhance the Firm’s shared contact collection (InterAction) as well as serve as a subject matter expert in leveraging the collection to support our marketing efforts
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure cross-utilization of business professionals and other resources to balance workload and identify opportunities for professional development
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the impact of marketing initiatives, including return on investments from marketing activities including events, sponsorships, associations and other outreach efforts
  • Lead a high-performance team of geographically distributed business professionals who provide marketing expertise and support on both a local and regional level by serving as a mentor and coach to the team and others within the Marketing Department
  • Leverage opportunities across services, offices, and functions to define and communicate best practices that will strengthen the Firm’s overall marketing efforts and their impact, eliminate silos, and foster consistent service delivery








Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in marketing, communication, business, or related field
  • A minimum of twelve (12) years of marketing experience within law firms or other professional service organizations
  • A minimum of five (5) years of team management experience

Preferred

  • J.D., MBA, or graduate degree in business, marketing, or related field
