e-Billing Specialist

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Department: Accounting

Reports To: Billing/ e-Billing Applications Manager

Location: This role can sit in any of Jackson Walker's office locations and candidate applications within those cities will also be considered.

Jackson Walker, the largest firm in Texas, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for an e-Biller. This role involves managing the e-billing process, ensuring compliance with client billing guidelines, and collaborating with attorneys and staff to gather necessary billing information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Receive finalized invoices from the Billing Specialist for electronic processing.
  • Submit invoices electronically using clients' third-party e-billing platforms.
  • Review and comply with clients' external billing guidelines.
  • Utilize Bill Blast and LEDES formats for e-billing.
  • Collaborate with the e-Billing Manager to oversee the entire electronic billing process firm-wide, including submission, rejection, appeals, short payments, approval, and payment.
  • Communicate with Billing Specialists, Accounts Receivable, and Billing Attorneys regarding the status of e-billing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong understanding of e-billing systems and processes, including third-party e-billing vendor sites and LEDES formats.
  • Knowledge of e-billing tracking sites such as BillBlast and eBilling Hub.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Preferred experience with Aderant billing software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and manage special projects as needed.

Education:

  • BachelorοΏ½s degree from an accredited college or university preferred; high school diploma required.

Years of Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of legal electronic billing experience within a law firm accounting and finance department.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise and temperature.
