E-Discovery Analyst

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Department: Litigation

Reports To: Director of Litigation Support

Jackson Walker, TexasοΏ½ largest law firm, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for an E-Discovery Analyst in our San Antonio office. The E-Discovery Analyst will be responsible for intake of electronic discovery processing, update project tracking system, assist in document preparation and loads, and support existing litigation support applications. This position requires solid technical knowledge, and great interpersonal skills are required. Prior experience at a law firm is recommended, but not a requirement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

Training:

  • Develop procedures for e-discovery intake, filtering, processing, and export to Relativity.
  • Prepare and create Sharefile data repositories and links for data transfers.
  • Maintain Project tracking system updates for tasks, client matter, trial updates, and software maintenance.
  • Provide support on litigation support products.

Application Support:

  • Provide basic to advanced technical support for end users on firm litigation support applications.
  • Assist case teams with management of electronic discovery collection, processing, review, case file organization, document imaging, electronic discovery, and other related tasks.
  • Provide direct litigation support for Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio offices.
  • Support client-related technology projects.
  • Import and manipulate data within litigation applications.
  • Provide after-hours support as required.

Essential Capabilities:

  • Work closely with the assigned Litigation Support team to develop a firm understanding of the technical requirements (e.g., processing specifications) and critical timelines associated with assigned matters.
  • Process and convert client and other electronically stored information in accordance with requirements set by team leadership.
  • Provide hands-on file manipulation, loading, and data conversion services. Load processed client and third-party data to review databases. Conduct quality checks on data deliveries throughout process. Resolve loading errors.
  • Create, configure, and administer Relativity workspaces as requested by the case team. Format, execute, and report on search term performance and other defined culling as requested by the Project Manager.
  • Create document production deliverables by generating custom metadata load files, native files, text files, and images in conformance with project specifications. Ensure appropriate OCR, text, and image redaction steps are complete.
  • Perform quality control and assurance steps on production deliverables following defined procedures.
  • Manage packaging, encryption, and transmittal of deliverables as requested by the Project Manager.
  • Support all other needs related to the secure receipt, management, and transmittal of client data.
  • Complete all necessary documentation for media logging, status tracking, quality assurance, and reporting.
  • Maintain open and consistent communications team.
  • Provide technical support for Relativity, Nextpoint, and all other litigation and practice technology solutions.
  • Provide end-user training as needed.
  • Assist in developing, documenting, and refining necessary procedures to accomplish improved process requirements.
  • Deliver training to case teams and/or department as required.
  • Support the execution of special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience or knowledge with litigation support-related applications required.
  • Working knowledge or understanding of the litigation process and a strong understanding of the use of technology to support litigation efforts.
  • Proficient understanding of Windows file and applications.
  • Strong customer service, organization, project management, documentation, and written and verbal skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively to a diverse group of attorneys and staff.

Education:

  • BachelorοΏ½s degree in Business, Communications, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university required.

Years of Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • Law firm experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise and temperature.
