Department Function The Communications and Marketing Department develops and implements marketing and advertising strategies and tactics to promote membership in the Association and awareness of the Association’s activities, events and programs, including Continuing Legal Education (CLE).
Job Function The Email Marketing Associate works with colleagues to develop, implement and optimize email marketing strategies and tactics to increase membership and increase registrations for CLE and Non-CLE programs. This includes email scheduling, list segmentation, email delivery, and performance analysis to optimize campaigns, improve engagement and drive measurable results.
Objectives of This Role
Working with the marketing team to develop and execute strategic email marketing plans
Identifying target segments, defining campaign goals and determining optimal frequency and timing of sending emails
Ensuring the accuracy and hygiene of the email database, maintaining opt-in practices and complying with data protection regulations
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including design and content, to align email marketing efforts with broader marketing initiatives
Maintaining best practices in email marketing
Principle Areas of Responsibility Include, but Are Not Limited To:
Work with colleagues to develop and execute end-to-end email marketing campaigns, from conceptualization to delivery and analysis
Segment and manage email lists, ensuring accurate targeting and personalized communication based on customer demographics, preferences, behavior and previous purchases
Identify opportunities for email optimization and A/B testing to analyze performance metrics to optimize campaign effectiveness, engagement and conversion rates
Monitor and study email campaign key performance indicators (KPIs), such as email deliverability, open rates, click-through rates, conversions and ROI
Explore new technologies such as AI to enhance marketing efforts
Stay updated with the industry trends and the best practices in email marketing to drive innovation and continuous improvement
Attend weekly program meetings to provide updates on previous program marketing efforts and plan future marketing of programs
Work with Associate Marketing Director on marketing campaign schedules to assure optimal outreach to prospective registrants
Qualifications & Skills
Associate level degree or higher, or equivalent experience, preferably in Marketing, Communications or related field
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in email marketing
Strong understanding of email marketing best practices
Proficiency in email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, Constant Contact, Real Magnet and other marketing automation tools
Familiarity with HTML and CSS for email template customization
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using tools such as Google Analytics
Experience and proficiency with A/B testing, Google Ads and other relevant advertising and marketing platforms
Knowledge of email personalization and dynamic content strategies
Familiarity with deliverability, GDPR and CAN-SPAM compliance a plus
Analytical mindset to interpret data and derive actionable insights
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and project management skills, adherence to deadlines, ability to prioritize workload, and have solid judgment
Creative thinking and the ability to develop strategic email content.
Strong attention to detail and organizational and proofreading skills.
Ability to work effectively and be responsive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
Self-motivated and able to assume responsibility and work autonomously and collaboratively in a professional manner
Familiarity with CRM integration systems and customer segmentation.
Knowledge of iMIS CRM and Real Magnet email package a plus
This is a hybrid position. Candidates must be available for in-person work at our Midtown Manhattan office approximately 50% of the time, with the balance of time being work-from-home. The hybrid schedule is subject to review and revision based on the department’s needs.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. We are not able to sponsor visas for this position.
Starting salary for this position is $48,000 - $55,000 for a 35-hour work week, based on depth of skills and experience.
