Responsibilities:

  • Meet billable hour targets and have the opportunity to exceed set goals for bonuses
  • Efficiently manage attorneys' schedules
  • Oversee document filing and ensure timely meeting of all deadlines
  • Work under the guidance of Owners, Managing Attorneys, and Associate Attorneys, while following Firm Policies, Procedures, and professional standards
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills by creating innovative strategies, policies, and procedures


Performance Evaluation:

  • Performance is evaluated based on meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), maintaining high work accuracy and quality, demonstrating productivity, positive attitude, effective communication, and adept problem-solving skills
  • Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather necessary facts and information essential for family law litigation cases in Wexford, PA, US
  • Explain relevant firm and external policies and procedures to clients in a clear and concise manner, ensuring understanding
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and other involved parties in legal matters, including witnesses and relevant individuals, fostering effective communication
  • Attend and provide support during trials, depositions, hearings, and various meetings related to family law cases as required
  • Independently draft high-quality legal documents and correspondence, showcasing expertise and attention to detail
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and compile information based on attorney guidance, including county-specific rules and procedures, ensuring accuracy
  • Prepare research summaries with appropriate conclusions to support attorneys in case preparations effectively
  • Maintain precise records of billable and non-billable time using the Firm’s practice management software, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Ensure all client files adhere to the Firm’s File Keeping Policy and Procedure through regular quality control checks, maintaining organization and compliance
  • Prepare and file legal documents accurately in compliance with various court requirements, including those of Superior Court and Allegheny County, following procedures closely
  • Must excel in team environments and possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Previous experience in a paralegal capacity is preferred, though candidates able to showcase their abilities will also be considered
  • Academic background should include one of the following: - Paralegal certification - Associate's or Bachelor's degree - Relevant experience in a law firm, particularly in Family Law
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite applications such as Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
  • Experience with law firms' practice management software like Clio, FileVine, and Microsoft Office
  • Skilled in tracking billable and non-billable hours, as well as documenting work accurately
  • Ability to create and format various legal documents and templates efficiently
  • Familiarity with electronic postage software (e.g., Stamps.com, USPS online, UPS online, FedEx online)
  • Knowledge of Mac computers and software is preferred
  • Proficient in operating multifunction office copier systems and scanning/rename documents effectively
  • Skilled in converting Word documents into PDF format
  • Excellent telephone communication abilities with different legal stakeholders
  • Quick to adapt and learn new technologies, handling changes effectively and efficiently
