Our law group is growing and we are looking for a sharp family attorney who will zealously represent our clients in all areas of family law. You’ll assist individuals in a variety of situations such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations.   • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings
  • Represent clients in court proceedings as needed
  • Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
  • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action
  • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Direct and supervise the work of support staff

  • Monitor retainer balances and communicate replenishment needs to the billing specialist

  • Candidate must have a license to practice law in either West Virginia or Ohio and be willing to obtain the other state licensure upon being offered employment
  • Prior family law experience is preferred but not required
  • Excellent oral communication skills

  • Juris Doctor Degree
