Position Summary:

The Paralegal will work closely with our Dallas attorneys to support the firm's clients in a manner that is consistent with our core values and vision. The right candidate must have 5+ years of Texas Family Law experience along with attention to detail, strong organizational and drafting skills, and the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.




This position resides in Austin, working 40 hours per week in the office located at 3307 Northland Drive Austin 78731. We offer a competitive compensation package including medical, dental, vision, 401k contributions, holidays, PTO, and more.




Duties & Responsibilities:





  • Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and court orders for review, approval, and use by attorneys.

  • Correspond with clients and prepare spreadsheets and documents for Inventory and Appraisement and Proposed Support Decision.

  • File pleadings with court clerks.

  • Coordinate delivery of subpoenas to witnesses and parties to action.

  • Conduct intake calls with potential new clients and prepare attorneys for initial consultations.



  • Assist attorneys in preparing for mediations, depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences. Attend trials as needed.

  • Assist attorneys in analyzing and resolving recurring problems that arise in family law cases.



  • Draft discovery requests, calendar relevant due dates and prepare correspondence to opposing counsel and/or opposing party.

  • Assist clients to comply with discovery requests and compile requested documents.


Job requirements:





  • Undergraduate degree

  • Paralegal Certificate preferred but not required

  • 5+ years of Texas Family Law experience

  • Solid understanding of the Texas Family Code and the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure

  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with superior attention to detail

  • Excellent prioritization, problem-solving, and time management skills

  • Ability to learn and utilize new software, technology, and techniques as needed to meet the changing demands of the legal marketplace

  • Creativity, flexibility, and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment
