About the Role






The Global Document Services Specialist I is an integral part of Latham’s Global Document Services (“GLODOCS”) team. This role will be responsible for performing a variety of core document support duties such as creating, editing, and otherwise manipulating legal documents and other work product for attorneys and staff, while completing various basic-level projects in Word (e.g., creating new documents, formatting, generating a table of contents ("TOC") and a table of authority ("TOA"), and adding cross-references). This role will be located in either our New York, Los Angeles, or Las Vegas office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. 

 

Please also note, the schedule for this role will be Sunday - Thursday, 5:00 pm - 1:00 am ET / 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm PT.









Responsibilities & Qualifications






Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Completing various basic-level projects in Excel (e.g., creating new workbooks/sheets, formatting cells/tables/rows/columns, and using simple formulas)
  • Proofreading documents when necessary
  • Converting documents from one application to another

 

We’d love to hear from you if you:

 

  • Possess basic knowledge of applications typically used in a legal word processing environment, such as MS Office Suite, Acrobat, Interwoven, OmniPage, Visio and other software
  • Display the ability to learn new software and procedures
  • Demonstrate well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm

 

And have:

 

  • A high school diploma or an equivalent, with a Bachelor’s degree, preferably
  • Microsoft certifications in Word Core, Excel Core, and PowerPoint, preferably 
  • A minimum of two (2) years of related experience working as a document specialist at a professional services organization
