Position Summary:

The HR Consultant will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions of the company for the US employee base, working closely with the HR leadership team in India to execute tactical and long-term HR plans for the US. This role can be based from anywhere in the US, and will require the individual to work remotely from our headquarters, which is located in Los Altos, CA.

Key Responsibilities (all are specific to the US employee base)

  • Oversee day-to-day HR functions for the US employee base, including managing communication, answering employee inquiries on HR-specific items, etc. as an extension of the central HR function based in India.
    Work closely with the CEO, COO, leaders of functional areas, and other executives to develop and implement HR-specific strategies and instruments that align with and drive the company's overall objectives on human capital management.
  • Manage yearly benefits enrollment, negotiations with providers on premiums, intermediaries on engagement models and fees, etc. on time
  • Manage employee communication (for the US base) on benefits, their enrollment, answering questions, and interface with providers on behalf of the employees and the Company.
  • Manage obligations and correspondence on Worker's Compensation Insurance, Unemployment Insurance, etc. with appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Manage HR-related communications, on an as-needed basis, with state and federal government agencies.
  • Manage employee performance management (yearly and mid-year, if needed), merit increases, and bonus payments with the central HR team.
  • Be the primary HR contact on employee grievances.
  • Work closely with the central HR on all new employee onboarding and employee exits.
  • Proactively communicate with functional area leaders and managers on HR policy changes, training and development plans, etc.




Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business; advanced degree such as MBA focusing on HR highly preferred; SHRM and other professional certifications will be a plus.
  • 6+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR BP in medium (>100 employees) sized business setups; recruitment experience in the US will be a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented and analytically minded.
  • Experience in leading HR functions in global, distributed, diverse organizations.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies and instruments that align with company goals and objectives.
  • Strong experience in employee onboarding, benefits management, operations, regulatory reporting and filings, and learning & development
  • Occasional (one in a quarter or so) in the US to attend leadership meetings.
