HRIS Specialist Job Details:



Snell & Wilmer, one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the Western United States, is seeking an experienced Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Specialist in our Phoenix office.  The HRIS Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the technology system that handles the human resource data for exempt and non-exempt employees. 


You will collaborate across departments and multi-state locations, serving as a key liaison between HR and Payroll teams.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Manage the coordination, with Payroll, Human Resources, and IT, on HRIS related issues, queries, and processes

  • Analyze, prepare, input the processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, leave status changes, and terminations into HRIS system

  • Collaborate with leadership across departments and multi-state locations to execute employee changes including compliance, policies, and procedures

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions about the HRIS and HR related questions

  • Track and maintain accurate records of HR documentation and transactions

  • Maintain our HRIS, ensuring a high degree of accuracy and timeliness in processing all staff changes, access, produce reports, etc. and new joiners

  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, guidance and training for system users

  • Develop and maintain related user procedures, guidelines, documentation, and process workflows

  • Performs other duties as required


Experience and Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred, but not required

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a related human resources or payroll position working with HRIS systems (UKG or similar)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with strong Excel experience

  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and remain flexible to changing needs or situations

  • Problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential data with a high degree of accuracy

  • Be familiar and interpret the firm’s HR policies and practices to process changes and communicate with managers and employees

  • Communication, attention to detail, collaboration, problem solving, and time management skills

  • Ensures compliance and maintains knowledge with all federal, state, and local employment and wage laws

  • Thorough understanding of all areas of information systems with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial HRIS product; UKG experience preferred
