Description:

The Information Governance (IG) Data Governance Analyst for Client Operations will provide assistance and support with regards to the implementation support, review, and maintenance of Firm policies, procedures and best practices related to data governance, data migration, data quality and the retention and disposition of data. Under the direction of the IG management, the Data Governance Analyst will support the following: data cleansing, data profiling, policy and process execution, and IG software management. The position will also assist in conducting training as needed.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Support of multiple data governance and data remediation policies and processes regarding the IG program and data governance platform.
  • Educate end users in the implementation and enforcement of Firm procedures related to the retention and disposition program.
  • Support and utilize IG software and other technology applications and systems for the administration of all governance and remediation projects.
  • Track day-to-day issues, assess ongoing projects and communicate progress to management.
  • Assist and lead the implementation requirements related to data quality standards, data protection standards and policy/process for projects.
  • Produce, analyze and report on inventory quantities of digital data and Records to accurately identify and classify the Records in all repositories.
  • Assist in the high-level creation and tracking of reports, pivot tables, spreadsheets and metrics concerning key aspects of assigned projects.
  • Assist management in establishing relationship with attorneys, end users and departmental staff to ensure compliance of the Firm’s data governance, data remediation, retention and disposition policies and procedures.
  • Cross collaborate with IG teams on ongoing projects and assignments.
  • Support the department in training and coaching end users regarding the proper lifecycle management of records, documents and materials.
  • Special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience related to governance, project planning and data analysis.
  • High degree of demonstrated critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High technology proficiency, particularly in database administration, relevant software and other systems, specifically in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Document Management Systems and Records Management Systems experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Information Governance principles and practices strongly preferred.
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Ability to interact with technical, supervisory and managerial level staff.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate results of assigned workload.
  • Law firm experience strongly preferred.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

This position may be filled in the District of Columbia. In accordance with the District of Columbia Wage Transparency Law, the pay range for this position in the District of Columbia is $74,200k - $111,400/yr. These ranges are specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.  An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience.
