Summary






The IT PMO Program Manager will be managing IT projects for IT Portfolios supporting Core IT, Accounting, Marketing, HR Knowledge Management, Data Management and more.  The IT PMO Program Manager will specialize in key complex IT initiatives, whether individual projects or collection of projects under a program relating to business functions, application lifecycles, networking, hosting, disaster recover, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and more.  The individual may be the sole project manager managing a program or be expected to manage and have oversight over other PMO project managers to ensure the program is successful. 

 

The IT PMO Program Manager will ensure delivery of high-quality projects and programs within time and budget following the framework governed by the IT PMO.  This individual will be a champion of the IT PMO’s processes ensuring consistency across projects and programs.  Additionally, must organize work and communicate with a variety of technical, business and vendor resources.  This position requires extensive prior experience in project management, program management, strategic planning, communication, organizational and leadership skills.









Duties and Responsibilities






  • Partner and assist with Senior Manager PMO to review, prioritize and shape roadmap of projects with IT Leadership.
  • Work with Project Managers, IT team members, stakeholders, and other departments to ensure successful project delivery from project inception through closure.
  • Provide strategic project management oversight on sub-projects within a program.
  • Create various project documents, including project charters, project plans, status reports, project risk assessments and project gating presentations. Work with project team to ensure relevant project documentation is created.
  • Report on the project pipeline, budget run, risks, issues, and mitigation plans for assigned projects.
  • Champion and contributor of project management best practices and standards within the IT PMO.
  • Perform risk mitigation and resolve resource, timing or other critical path issues tied to projects/programs.
  • Review and reporting of project/program status.
  • Provide project gating presentations to the IT Directors and CIO during various stage gates of their assigned projects.
  • Preparation of materials for briefings and presentations to large size groups of key decision makers at the executive level.

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience managing IT projects and/or programs
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to process and methodology improvements
  • Demonstrated knowledge and execution of project management practices, tools, and methodologies, including appropriate project management tools (Smartsheet, Asana, Planview, Microsoft Project, etc.)

Preferred:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Degree in Computer Science, Business or Management Information Systems
  • Experience with transactional systems, particularly in the accounting, finance, marketing, or human resources functional areas as well as core IT functions relating to IT services, hardware, networking, cybersecurity, AI and more
  • Law firm experience
  • Consulting/professional services experience
