If you are a skilled Litigation Attorney with experience in depositions, motion drafting, court appearances, and negotiating settlements, this position could be the perfect match for you. The compensation package for this role is between $70,000 and $100,000, inclusive of bonuses, health benefits, and 401(k) contributions. - We pay all bar dues and CLE fees, and there may be relocation assistance available.

When delegated to, is responsible for the competent provision of legal services including but not limited to:

  • Drafting complex pleadings, motions, briefs, orders, etc. and/or reviewing and approving pleadings, motions, orders, and other legal production documents drafted by paralegals and/or legal assistants
  • Overseeing and analyzing discovery
  • Conducting legal research
  • Drafting legal memos and preparing case outlines for depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, hearings/trials
  • Conducting initial client meetings
  • Communicating with witnesses and gathering evidence
  • Providing direction to and answering legal questions from support staff
  • Prepare and execute legal strategies for assigned cases, under supervision of the Owners and/or Senior Associate managing the case
  • Advise clients regarding their best legal interests, after conferring with the supervising attorney, serving as the secondary contact between the Firm and the clients
  • Under direct supervision, represent clients in settlement negotiations, at mediation, in deposition, and in court for motions, trials, and other types of hearings
  • Manage cases assigned directly to you and perform/delegate to legal assistants/paralegals case work appropriately
  • Assist the contingency team with meeting monthly complaint and demand goals as well as monthly revenue goals
  • Attend case status meetings and take necessary actions
  • The Junior Contingency Litigation Attorney will have a four-year bachelor’s degree, a juris doctor degree, and be licensed to practice law in West Virginia.
  • Two to Three years of experience working in a law firm is preferred.Β
