We are searching for a junior attorney to join our Employment/Personal Injury practice team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in legal research and writing, with an emphasis on supporting litigation efforts. This role will involve assisting with case preparation, drafting legal documents, and conducting extensive legal research to support ongoing litigation. The Junior Litigation Attorney will work closely with senior attorneys and contribute to various stages of litigation, from discovery through trial preparation.

If you are a skilled Litigation Attorney with the ability to conduct comprehensive legal analysis, draft clear and effective legal documents, and utilize strong research skills to interpret case law, this position could be a perfect match for you. The compensation package for this role is between $70,000 and $100,000, inclusive of bonuses, health benefits, and 401(k) contributions. - We pay all bar dues and CLE fees, and there may be relocation assistance available.

When delegated to, is responsible for the competent provision of legal services including but not limited to:

  • Drafting complex pleadings, motions, briefs, orders, etc. and/or reviewing and approving pleadings, motions, orders, and other legal production documents drafted by paralegals and/or legal assistants
  • Review case files and client documents to help develop litigation strategies. Provide analytical support by identifying key legal issues and suggesting appropriate legal arguments.
  • Overseeing and analyzing discovery
  • Conducting legal research
  • Outlining depositions
  • Arguing motions in court
  • Drafting legal memos and preparing case outlines for depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, hearings/trials
  • Communicating with witnesses and gathering evidence
  • Providing direction to and answering legal questions from support staff
  • Manage cases assigned directly to you and perform/delegate to legal assistants/paralegals case work appropriately
  • Assist the contingency team with meeting monthly complaint and demand goals as well as monthly revenue goals
  • Attend case status meetings and take necessary actions

The Junior Contingency Litigation Attorney will have a four-year bachelor’s degree, a juris doctor degree, and be licensed to practice law in West Virginia.
