Labor and Employment Associate
The Atlanta office of Squire Patton Boggs is currently seeking a
highly motivated attorney, ideally with 4-5 years of experience to
join our Labor and Employment practice. You will have the opportunity
to support and work with partners and other experienced lawyers
throughout our global footprint - many of whom are recognized as
leaders in their fields.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with/handling litigation and pre-litigation matters
including discovery, motion work, preparing EEOC position statements
and related work.
- Assisting in trials, including serving as second chair in trials.
- Provide high level counsel to clients on federal and state
employment law compliance issues.
- Preparation of employment contracts and assistance with other
project-based work.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Possess a JD from an accredited law school and a strong academic record.
- Must be in good standing and admitted to practice in a US State
Bar. Admission to the State Bar of Georgia is expected if not
currently admitted.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Minimum four years of demonstrable experience in employment law
litigation and counseling, preferably in a law firm setting or US
District Court clerkship experience.
- Strong organizational skills; good judgment; a record of
responsiveness and attention to detail; initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities and reasoning
and research skills.
- Flexibility, composure and the ability to prioritize and handle
urgent tasks and requests simultaneously with a high level of
competence and accuracy; the ability to remain composed and
professional under stressful circumstances.
- Commitment to professional ethics and client confidentiality;
strong client service skills.
- Ability to work without constant supervision, demonstrating
initiative in seeking work and managing work load; active in
formulating and recommending projects or alternative ways to
complete projects that will benefit the client.
