Overview






 

This is a highly skilled technical position that will be responsible for researching, developing, implementing, and maintaining integrated software solutions which allow attorneys and staff to access firm resources from the office and remote locations, while leading projects to research, evaluate, design, implement, and support complex enterprise applications, on premises and in Cloud such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, iManage, Aderant, Workshare Compare, Adobe Acrobat, Teams/Zoom and familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy.









Responsibilities






  • Lead training assessment process, including creating documentation, learning plans, and delivery of training for enterprise technology solutions.
  • Create and conduct new hire orientation training on firm systems.
  • Create and conduct ongoing training on existing firm systems both at the enterprise, office, practice group, and individual level.
  • Coordinate with IT and HR to identify skill gaps and develop associated materials and training modules.
  • Assist with testing and evaluation of new software.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and support of the firm’s software programs.
  • Much of the user training is conducted via remote sessions but also includes classroom and one-on-one sessions in all of the firm’s DC office.
  • Work to continually improve training modules working with attorneys and staff best use firm technologies and maximize efficiencies to help deliver exceptional client service.
  • Participate in the review, customization, testing, and implementation of new firm applications and product upgrades; develop associated training and documentation.
  • Create e-learning courses available on demand for employees using firm’s LMS.
  • Solicit student evaluations upon completion of training.
  • Use the firm’s ticketing system to create and respond to escalated training tickets.
  • Attend weekly IT meeting.
  • Coordinate with vendors as necessary.
  • Travel to the firm’s offices as needed for new hire training and project rollout training and support.
  • Assist Help Desk when needed








Qualifications






 

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or comparable work experience
  • 7 years in training support and implementation used in the legal industry
  • 5 years of experience with deployment of Microsoft operating systems and applications
  • 5 years of experience working with Document Management and other legal specific systems
  • 5 years of experience with a systematic approach towards software testing
  • Strong ability to demonstrate successful independent work and value-added deliverables
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and easily with people at all levels within the firm.
  • Deep technical knowledge and technical problem-solving skills at an advanced level.
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications and platforms.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and the ability to adjust instructional methods to best meet the needs of the students.
  • Understanding of design concepts for online, self-paced learning content.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Strong knowledge of a third-party document management system and common ancillary legal software tools preferred.
  • Extensive experience preparing online training, eLearning and print documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Captivate and SnagItIn-depth technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Mac OSX operating systems;
  • Familiarity with Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels.
  • Able to interact positively at all levels within the firm and be a good team player.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent client/customer facing skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; can clearly explain and present problems and issues to others and contribute to their resolution.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
  • Methodical approach to work, with a strong focus on organization, accuracy and quality.
  • Understands the need for documentation and well-defined procedures.
  • Can demonstrate initiative and the ability to be proactive, while also being able to follow instructions and provide support to IT Management
  • Ability to maintain awareness of training needs and developments and make recommendations to enterprise technology teams and leadership
  • Ability to work independently and lead implementations, as well as, break/fix discussions to achieve positive solutioning outcomes
  • Able to work under pressure to tight project deadlines and can adapt to differing demands
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize assigned workload to meet delivery commitments
  • Prior law firm experience preferred.
