Summary






The Legal Recruiting Department is seeking a Law School Engagement Coordinator to provide strategic support to the campus recruiting efforts in the New York office. This position will be based in the New York office and will report to our Law Student Engagement Director in our Chicago office, but will work closely with the Legal Recruiting Manager in our New York office. This position requires a high level of collaboration with lawyers and the ability to work independently and requires good judgment. The incumbent will be highly organized, possess excellent proofing and communication (oral and written) skills; the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; a very strong attention to detail; a professional demeanor and possess strong interpersonal skills.









Duties and Responsibilities






  • Provides administrative support for all new and ongoing 1L law student engagement activities and initiatives for the New York office; this could include diversity, equity and inclusion programs and initiatives related to recruiting talent of varied backgrounds
  • Coordinates the sponsorship requests for law school and student groups, including affinity groups, at various law schools
  • Plans, coordinates and/or implements law school and student group events and activities such as panels, mentor programs, mock interviews, and receptions.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with law students, lawyers and external groups to exchange information and to plan events
  • Assists in coordinating, planning and executing aspects of the summer associate program (events, trainings, etc.)
  • Assists with the Built to Succeed Leadership, Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship application process
  • Promotes the scholarship program to law schools, student organizations, and other relevant stakeholders through outreach efforts and marketing initiatives.
  • Assists in scheduling interviews and hiring meeting materials, along with follow up efforts
  • Assists with generating reports and analyzing metrics for various recruiting programs and initiatives
  • Maintains LawCruit database and NetDocs filing system with accurate and complete records
  • Distributes firm marketing materials tailored to student audiences
  • Work collaboratively and across the New York and Firmwide Legal Recruiting team and other departments of the firm
  • Must be willing to work overtime as requested, especially during the months of May through August
  • Ability to travel, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as judgment or necessity dictates 

New York Applicants (and roles reporting to New York): Salaries may vary by location. In New York, the estimated target salary range of this role is $82,000 - $88,000, in addition to bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefit package. Salary determinations are made based on numerous factors, such as, but not limited to, the relevant market and the skill, experience, class or graduation year, and education of the selected candidate.

Education and/or Experience: 

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited four year university or college

Preferred: 

  • A minimum of four years of experience, preferably in law firm or other professional services environment
