Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig (DBL) is seeking a Legal Assistant for our Florence, KY office. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
Responsibilities:
Assist the lead attorney in preparing and filing immigration applications, petitions, and supporting documentation for various visa types, including but not limited to family-based petitions, employment visas, adjustment of status, consular processing, and naturalization.
Complete and review immigration forms, such as I-130, I-485, I-864, I-140, N-400, and others, ensuring accuracy and compliance with immigration laws and regulations.
Communicate with clients to gather required documents and share updates on their case progress while creating strong, empathetic relationships.
Maintain and organize client files, ensuring all documents are properly categorized, completed, and filed with the appropriate immigration authorities (USCIS, DHS, consulates, etc.).
Monitor and manage deadlines, court dates, and other important timelines to ensure timely filing and compliance.
File and track petitions, applications, and supporting documentation electronically or by mail with appropriate governmental agencies. Maintain a record of all filings and communications.
Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
Able to handle multiple office responsibilities simultaneously.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in office support or administrative assistant role.
Ability to work independently and multi-task by prioritizing workload to manage commitments effectively and complete tasks within deadlines.
Capacity to learn quickly and retain highly technical information.
Superior interpersonal, organizational, and client service skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with case management software preferred. Experience with filing and tracking applications through government portals (USCIS, CEAC, etc.) is also a plus.
Fluency in Spanish or French is preferred but not required.
No Nights or Weekends! Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm schedule.
