KMK Law is in search of a Legal Assistant to join our Litigation Group.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 


  • Electronically files documents with federal and state courts. 

  • Prepares, proofreads, and edits documents at direction of attorneys. 

  • Dockets and schedules dates for court filings, hearings, and other matters.

  • Establishes and maintains case files electronically and in paper.

  • Enters billable time for timekeepers; prepares bills for clients.

  • Updates and manages client contact information, emails, and paper mail.

  • Manages telephone calls.  

  • Coordinates and schedules client meetings; prepares travel arrangements.

  • Coordinates large copy jobs with internal copy services.

  • Other duties as assigned. 


Key Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Strong technical skills including Microsoft Office and document management systems.

  • 3+ years’ experience in law firm preferred.   

  • Excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • May lift up to 15 pounds on occasion.
