Legal Assistant - Litigation and Corporate

Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC is currently accepting resumes for a full-time Litigation/Corporate Legal Assistant in support of growth in our Las Vegas, Nevada office. This individual will provide administrative support for a small group of attorneys and will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with all stages of litigation or corporate matters This is a full-time opportunity and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Electronic filing in state and federal courts as needed
• Manage assigned attorneys’ calendars, dockets, and appointments
• Transcribe dictation and compose and prepare confidential correspondence, reports, and other complex litigation documents as needed
• Preparation and filings with governmental authorities in Nevada and other states
• Screen incoming calls and correspondence and respond as necessary
• Maintain and complete attorney monthly time entry and billing
• Maintain client files in DMS (Netdocs) as well as the physical file
• Provide back-up support to other legal assistants as assigned or needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required, a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a  Legal Assistant.
• Strong knowledge and experience of state and federal court e-filing procedures, e-discovery, and trial preparation.
• Ability to handle heavy workloads efficiently and accurately.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with attorneys, staff, and clients.
• Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
