The Assistant to the Legal Talent & Deal Staffing department in the Houston office is responsible for supporting the Houston Manager, Legal Talent & Deal Staffing with attorney staffing on client matters in Corporate department practice groups, as well as with aspects of the Houston Legal Talent function.
Responsibilities
• Provide administrative support to the Houston Legal Talent & Deal Staffing department with day-to-day tasks
• Assist with attorney staffing on client matters
• Assist with regularly scheduled check-in calls with attorneys
• Maintain database of client matter assignments and status
• Assist with coordination and tracking of associate vacation schedules and deal coverage
• Assist with coordination of attorney mentoring program, including scheduling, planning, coordinating, and tracking mentoring meetings and other events
• Prepare and process invoices and expense reports using Chrome River (Firm’s accounting software), as needed
• Coordinate meetings, conference rooms, and catering when needed for deal staffing and/or attorney mentoring events
• Assist with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion events as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
Education:
Required
• High School diploma or GED equivalent required
Preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
Skills and Experience
• 1-2 years of relevant, equivalent experience
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; experience working in a database is a plus
• Strong administration and data management skills, with attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills and ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize work in a fast pace setting
• Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Must be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
• Must be able to maintain a client-focused mentality and a professional demeanor
• Must be able to maintain confidential information and exercise discretion
Salary Information
The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is non-exempt meaning it is overtime pay eligible.
