The Manager of Document Intelligence is the Firm’s product manager and subject matter expert for Document Management solutions, including the iManage suite of products and is responsible for establishing and driving the strategic roadmap for adoption and optimal utilization of document management solutions.

The position requires prior law firm Document Management Systems (DMS) knowledge, general knowledge of Information Governance and Knowledge Management, and experience engaging with lawyers and other law firm staff.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the IT team to develop and lead the Firm’s short and long-term road-maps for all document management related initiatives

  • Maintain awareness of the iManage product suite roadmap; influence and align the product feature set with the needs of the Firm

  • Foster relationships with document management vendors 

  • Implement technical solutions and processes that increase efficiency and productivity across the Firm, reducing the Firm’s current document management cost

  • Deliver products and services by effectively engaging with stakeholders and coordinating the efforts of team members, IT, vendors and consultants

  • Work closely with Knowledge Management Lawyers (KMLs) to analyze practice specific needs, develop processes and best practices and align document management functionality to support requirements

  • Engage with legal and non-legal members of the Firm to promote use of document management through targeted discussions, business analysis, communications, presentations, and training

  • Collaborate with various functions to define project objectives and oversee deliverables throughout the project lifecycle

  • Work in tandem with IT to design and implement new versions, feature sets and integrations of document management

  • Advise on product configurations and design that balance effective knowledge sharing with security and information governance policies

  • Minimize risk to the firm by delivering a user-friendly, secure and high performing solution to manage all client and firm data per Firm policy and jurisdictional regulation(s)

  • Identify, design, implement and support solutions that extend the core DMS platform, including third party and custom integrations

  • Expand the platform to accommodate critical KM initiatives including a structured and curated knowledge bank and electronic closing library

  • Oversee all product related issues for document management including solution analysis, design, planning, training, deployment, operations and communications

  • Help develop reporting and dashboards in support of the firm’s KM and Information Governance requirements and goals

Required Skills

  • 5+ years DMS experience at a large law firm; consulting background a plus

  • Experience with DMS redesign or migration and Work 10

  • Proven ability to influence key stakeholders by building trust and relationships

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Substantial knowledge of product management techniques and tools

  • Work experience in product management capacity, in strategic planning, in risk management and in change management

  • Solid understanding of information governance protocols and regulations

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Strong vendor management skills

  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills

Technical Requirements

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge and experience with the iManage suite of products

  • Exposure and general understanding of SharePoint integration points

  • Experience with complex software implementations including design, configuration, integration, rollout, support and training

  • Exposure and experience working in Agile development environment

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required

NY only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $165k to $190k at the time of posting.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.  This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
