We are seeking an experienced and strategic Managerial Accountant to lead the day-to-day financial operations at our law firm. The primary objective of this role is to improve financial clarity, enhance operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making. This includes overseeing the billing and collections teams, optimizing accounts receivable management, standardizing financial reporting, and strengthening overall financial controls. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the firm’s partners and executive team to develop and implement strategies that drive financial performance.
- Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the firm's objectives.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
- Accounts Receivable & Cash Flow Management: Optimize accounts receivable processes and cash flow to ensure the firm’s financial health.
- Profitability & Cost Analysis: Analyze financial data to assess profitability and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and mitigate financial risks.
- Billing & Collections Oversight: Manage the billing and collections teams to improve processes, reduce outstanding balances, and increase cash flow.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
- Professional designation, such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or similar.
- 5-8+ years of accounting/financial analysis experience, preferably in a professional services setting (law firm experience is a strong plus).
Demonstrated success in:
- Managing accounts receivable and high-volume invoicing.
- Implementing and optimizing billing and collection processes.
- Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Providing strategic financial recommendations to senior leadership.
- Deep understanding of legal billing processes, revenue management, and financial strategy development.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, with proficiency in financial software and the MS Office Suite.
