Our Homicide Bureau Riding Program involves our office in the investigation of homicides at the earliest possible moment. The Riding ADA responds to the scene within hours or even minutes of a notification. The Riding ADA then participates in the investigative process, as well as the possible questioning of witnesses and suspects. The ADA then assists in the prosecution of cases, including presentation to a grand jury.
The Manager of the Riding Program serves as the immediate contact and resource for the Riding ADA at the scene while serving as Back up and supervises all other Back Up Supervisors.

This Manager is expected to have expertise in the law of search and seizure, issues pertaining to right to counsel and custodial interrogation, the law of justification, as well as with forensic evidence, including DNA, ballistics, fingerprint analysis and forensic pathology.
Candidates should be prepared to be on call 24 hours a day every day to respond to crime scenes and police precincts throughout the Borough of Queens and be available by phone on nights and weekends to consult on ongoing investigations.
