Speaks Law Firm is seeking a Medical Records Coordinator to join our legal team. The primary duties include reviewing case-related documents and generating comprehensive and persuasive demand packages to ensure clients receive the compensation they deserve. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing skills with a passion for advocating on behalf of personal injury clients. Candidates will be asked to provide a writing sample and complete a writing prompt as part of the interview process. This position can be onsite in either Wilmington or Charlotte, NC.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Review and verify the accuracy of medical records, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete
Conduct thorough fact-checking and research to strengthen case arguments and ensure accuracy
Collaborate with attorneys and case managers to develop a cohesive strategy for each demand
Analyze and summarize medical treatments, injuries, and prognosis to convey the impact of the accident on the client’s life
Draft compelling and well-organized demand letters that clearly tell the client’s story while highlighting liability and damages
Edit and proofread demand packages for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to quality standards
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, patient confidentiality and data security
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required
Strong writing and editing skills with a demonstrated ability to craft persuasive narratives
Experience in personal injury law, medical records or a legal setting preferred
Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to interpret medical records is a plus
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
Proficiency in word processing software and legal documentation tools
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients
Self-motivated and high degree of work ethic
Demonstrate proficiency and a sense of urgency in reviewing medical records and drafting summaries and persuasive arguments advocating for our clients
Compensation: The is a full-time hourly position starting at $18.
