About the Opportunity:
We are a Law firm with state-wide practice seeking a full-time LITIGATION PARALEGAL for its Garland office. Candidate must have minimum 4 years litigation experience, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of the civil court system. We represent appraisal districts in their value litigation cases and have a booming docket.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
- Prepare/draft pleadings, motions and written discovery in civil litigation.
- Communicate and assist clients and attorneys in preparing responses to written discovery, document production(s), preparing for depositions and trials.
- Review incoming mail/e-mail to calendar events and deadlines.
- Ability to manage a large docket efficiently (manage electronic filing, calendars, litigation deadlines, etc.)
- Perform duties administrative in nature pertaining to cases.
- Prepare cases for trial including exhibit preparation, knowledge of electronic exhibit preparation, ability to prepare a trial notebook and jury charge, etc.
- Other legal and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A degree ideally in paralegal studies or a paralegal certificate (will consider significant experience in lieu of).
- Solid understanding of the civil court system.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Computer literate with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outloook, and Clio or similar billing system.
- Strong communication skills.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to assignments, ability to solve problems with limited supervision, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- High level of efficiency and accuracy.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of litigation experience.
- Experience with a high-volume practice a plus.
Work Environment:

- Must be able to work 37.50 hours per week, 8:30am - 5:00pm - Monday - Friday.
