Paralegal

Speaks Law Firm is looking for a highly motivated and organized individual who can assist our growing team in Charlotte, by taking it to the next level.  We are headquartered in Wilmington, NC and have a team of attorneys and legal support in Charlotte. We are seeking a Paralegal - Case Manager with solid personal injury experience in North Carolina who can roll up their sleeves to guide the staff with their knowledge and experience. 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Maintain effective communication with attorneys, clients, insurance adjusters, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
• Demonstrate key performance indicators and drive tasks to completion.
• Maintain updated lien and balance information in assigned files.
• Communicate with insurance and health adjusters regarding demand packages, policies, liens, and payment logs.
• Verify client’s insurance coverage and how coverages apply.
• Request and review client documents including medical records, bills, and health insurance liens.
• Understand subrogation and rule 414 payment/adjustments to review liens and balance sheets for accuracy.
• Routinely contact clients regarding case updates, treatment, coverage investigations, etc.
• Complete systematic file review of demand packages prepared by your team.
• Manage file count and file rotation within your team.
• Provide consistent support and timely resolution of file issues within your team.

Desired Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent required
• Legal case management in personal injury: 3 years minimum required
• Paralegal Certificate preferred
• Needles/Neos case management software experience preferred
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and motivation to quickly and efficiently move tasks to completion
• Ability to effectively communicate and thorough understanding of legal language and principles, and other related processes
• Ability to function well in a high-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Passion for customer service and serving the needs of our clients
• Experience with KPI reporting in PerformYard a plus
• Experience tracking medical management, demand production, and case counts a plus

Compensation:
Annual base salary estimated to be $45,000 - $60,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
