Sheryll Law, P.C. is seeking an experienced Paralegal with a strong background in Estate Planning, Medicaid, Probate, and Trust & Estates to join our team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable handling a variety of tasks in a fast-paced legal environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to client matters.

  • Assist in the preparation and drafting of Wills, Trusts (Revocable, Irrevocable, Special Needs, etc.), Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, and other estate planning documents.
  • Manage client intake and information gathering for estate plans.
  • Coordinate document execution and ensure compliance with state requirements.
  • Prepare and submit Medicaid applications for long-term care.
  • Assist clients with gathering required financial documents and eligibility paperwork.
  • Work with clients and financial institutions to ensure proper asset structuring for Medicaid eligibility.
  • Assist with estate administration, including drafting petitions for probate and administration.
  • Prepare inventories, accountings, and related court filings.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and financial institutions regarding estate and trust matters.
  • Track estate deadlines and ensure compliance with Surrogate’s Court procedures.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, keeping them informed throughout their case.
  • Maintain organized client files and case tracking through case management software.
  • Coordinate with attorneys to ensure timely completion of legal matters.
  • Conduct legal research as needed.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal in Estate Planning, Medicaid, Probate, and Trust & Estates.
  • Education: Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in drafting estate planning and probate documents
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal practice management software and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
