Exciting opportunity for a Paralegal/legal assistant to join our growing team at the Ridgeland, MS office.

We are in search of a dedicated Paralegal to provide support to a trial attorney at our bustling injury law and family law firm in Ridgeland, MS.


Responsibilities will include trial preparation, drafting motions, court filings, managing calendars, scheduling, handling discovery, and other essential duties.


The role will involve assisting with depositions, preparing witnesses, conducting research, and offering assistance to the attorney during court proceedings.


Managing case documents pre and post-trial will also be a key responsibility.


The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills and the ability to craft effective correspondence with opposing counsel and analyze medical records to effectively convey the case narrative.

A minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience in family law or personal injury law is required.


Proficiency in MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Suite is essential, with experience in Apple computers considered a bonus.

  • Manage and organize files and documents
  • Schedule events and assignments
  • Work closely with court administrators and court personnel
  • Assist clients in filling and submitting legal forms
  • Draft letters and simple court papers for attorney review
  • Compose reports and legal documents for attorney approval
  • Carrying out in-depth legal research into new and developing issues, verifying legal precedents, and analyzing legislation
  • Assemble and submit discovery
  • Bring together clients to review discovery answers
  • Communicating with clients to provide updates and collect necessary information
  • Ensure that all file elements are in the right location, accurately labeled, and in the suitable order
  • Aid attorneys in preparing cases for hearings and trials
  • Support lawyers in the courtroom
  • Prepare for and attend depositions
  • Prepare and classify exhibits during depositions
  • Prepare and submit court documents
  • Compose and file documents and correspondence
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports
  • Monitoring e-filing, refreshing files, answering phones, scheduling, and other duties as assigned
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as a paralegal
  • E-filing knowledge is necessary
  • Proficiency in typing is essential
  • Excellent communication abilities (verbal and written)
  • Understanding of how to create pleadings and letters
  • Positive attitude
  • Prior experience as a Paralegal is a requirement
