Our Litigation department has an excellent opportunity for a Paralegal in the Orange County office. This is a non-exempt position that reports to the office Litigation Leader.  The primary job responsibilities encompass performing paralegal tasks to support and assist the attorneys in all phases of a matter from case inception through trial or resolution.  This is a fast-paced collaborative environment.  The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills and will show initiative, professionalism, and discretion in all matters.  Flexibility, excellent judgment, and the ability to contribute to a positive team environment are essential.


Responsibilities:



  • Manage matters, ensuring all discovery and filing deadlines are met

  • Participate in fact gathering and investigation and prepare summaries and memos concerning the data

  • Coordinate preparation and filing of legal documents, including researching local rules of procedure for relevant court venues, cite and fact checking and assembling exhibits and appendices

  • Assist with drafting and responding to discovery requests and document collection, organization, review and productions

  • Assist with deposition, meeting, or interview preparations, including preparing witness files, exhibits, notices and subpoenas and summaries

  • Assist with all aspects of hearing, trial, and arbitration preparations, including logistics and travel

  • Other duties as requested and assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree and an ABA-approved paralegal certificate are required

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a litigation paralegal working in a law firm

  • Extensive knowledge of litigation, trial procedures, and federal, state, and appellate court rules and procedures nationwide

  • Experience with document productions and e-discovery databases

  • Ability to work proactively, independently, and collaboratively

  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task and to exercise discretion with confidential and sensitive information

  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, document management system, Pacer, e-filing platforms

  • Ability to work overtime or travel when needed

  • Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish preferred


The expected annual salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $120,000.  The salary offered will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to experience level, education/training, and relevant skills.
