Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our HR team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, benefits administration, payroll/benefits laws and regulations. This role involves collaborating with our accounting team, managers, and employees to ensure timely and accurate payroll and benefits processing.
Benefits Responsibilities:
- Oversees the implementation, processing, and management of employee benefits programs.
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
- Responds to benefit inquiries regarding plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
- Responds to 401(k) inquiries relating to enrollments, plan changes, and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.
- Processes 401(k) enrollments and contribution changes.
- Assists with the open enrollment process.
- Administers the tuition reimbursement program.
- Provides benefits reporting as needed.
Payroll Responsibilities:
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, bonuses, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Processes bi-weekly payroll and off-cycle checks, as needed.
- Prepare and analyze regular audit reports. Communicate directly with employees and their leaders on timekeeping issues and questions.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Processes garnishments, wage deductions, and income verification requests.
- Ensures payroll compliance with all applicable laws, including tax regulations, wage laws, and company policies.
- Audits W2 preparation in HRIS to ensure accuracy.
- Provides payroll reporting as needed.
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1 – 2 years benefits administration experience.
- 3+ years of experience in payroll Multistate experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of payroll and benefit laws and regulations. 
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- ADP experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
- Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc. May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
- Dexterity – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
- Move, Transport, Position, Put, Install, Remove - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
- Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess - The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
