We have an outstanding opportunity in our firm-wide accounting department for a Payroll Specialist.


A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A PAYROLL SPECIALIST



  • As a Payroll Specialist, performs payroll related functions, including payroll processing of the biweekly, quarterly and annual payrolls; payroll tax compliance; automated timekeeping systems; and payroll reporting in a multisite, high-volume environment.

  • All processes associated with ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and timely with the correct withholdings and deductions, as designated within the respective legal and regulatory jurisdiction where employment occurs. This includes salary payments, tax withholdings and deductions from paychecks. This category also includes processes associated with accurate and timely payments of taxes and withholdings to applicable governmental agencies and taxing authorities.

  • Manage paperwork and processes, including onboarding, HRIS system, benefits vendors, etc. for new hires and changes (transfers, promotions, terminations, etc.).

  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefit files and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in HRIS system including enrollments, terminations, and qualifying events. Monthly insurance tracking.

  • Ability to multi-task effectively, to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines, and to demonstrate common sense and problem-solving skills.


Expectations



  • An associate degree or higher preferred.

  • Two to four years of progressive directly related experience.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.

  • Able to calculate numbers.

  • Excellent skills with Windows-based software and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
