The Performance & Compensation Specialist provides support to the Performance & Compensation team, which oversees job architecture, employment changes, compensation, and performance.  This role will assist in the execution of various HR initiatives, data analysis, reporting, and process optimization to ensure alignment with the firm's strategic objectives. Essential job functions include:

Job Architecture Support

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the firm's job architecture.
  • Manage the new hire data entry process.
  • Compile and process employment status changes within the HRIS database.
  • Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes.
  • Maintain personnel records.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of organizational charts, ensuring charts are updated in a timely manner to reflect changes in staffing, reporting relationships, and departmental structures.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining accurate and detailed job descriptions for all positions within the organization.
  • Create new positions in the HRIS system as needed.

Performance Management Support

  • Support the execution of the annual performance review cycle, including, but not limited to building evaluation processes in technology platforms, drafting communications, collating materials, and developing resources in collaboration with the Performance Analyst.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of goal programs.
  • Assist with establishing and maintaining feedback loops, programs, and mechanisms.
  • Maintain timekeeper groups and team leaders in viEval.

Compensation Program Support

  • Assist with gathering data for salary surveys and beginning market analysis.
  • Maintain compensation databases, entering new internal positions and ensuring that each position is matched within the database.
  • Responsible for updating the compensation dashboards.
  • Assist in maintaining compensation guidelines and frameworks.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to job architecture, performance management, and compensation.
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and presentations, ensuring data is visually represented.
  • Responsible for maintaining annual updates to the timekeeper database.
  • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality while managing sensitive information.

Technology and Process Improvement

  • Leverage HR technology platforms to optimize data collection and reporting processes.
  • Leverage AI for process improvement and to enhance the team’s impact.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in the Performance & Compensation team’s initiatives.
  • Implement emerging technologies and tools to optimize data collection, tracking, and reporting processes.

Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative support to the Performance & Compensation team.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and manage expense reports.
  • Assist with managing the team’s budget and provide regular reporting.
  • Build and maintain employment, compensation, and performance management pages on the HuB to ensure quality resources are available to all employees.
  • Keep resources on the HuB current and in alignment with branding standards and DEI best practices.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Run regular and ad hoc reports for the Performance & Compensation team.
  • Assist Performance & Compensation team with special projects as needed.

 

Position Requirements

  • 3+ years’ relevant experience required, preferably in a professional services environment, or commensurate professional and educational experience.
  • Sound understanding of HR, policies, practices and procedures required. 
  • Strong HRIS/HRMS knowledge required; experience with UKG/UltiPro, SumTotal, and/or viEval strongly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues by using sound judgment.
  • Ability to work with little oversight, demonstrating self-motivation. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Positive, motivated, supportive and approachable.
  • Coordinate and disseminate confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software, systems, and technologies as needed.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

  • State of California: $53,000 - $102,000
  • State of Colorado: $49,000 - $88,000
  • Jersey City, NJ: $58,000 - $105,000
  • State of Maryland: $52,000 - $78,000
  • State of Massachusetts: $53,000 - $102,000
  • State of Minnesota: $53,000 - $88,000
  • State of New York: $50,000 - $107,000
  • State of Washington: $52,000 - $98,000
  • Washington, D.C.: $69,000 - $101,000

 

The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
