Position Summary: 

Witherite Law Group and associated companies seeks professionals who want to join a high-performing team committed to working together to accomplish our mission and uphold our values of People First, Unmatched Expertise, and Integrity Always. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pre-Litigation Department Manager to oversee our legal team and ensure efficient and effective operation of our pre-litigation department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and exceptional organizational skills. This role requires someone who can effectively manage multiple priorities, foster a collaborative work environment, and drive results through effective management and strategic planning. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise and mentor Pre-Litigation Case Management teams.
  • Oversee 10-15 employees in the Pre-Litigation Department.
  • Develop goals and complete performance reviews.
  • Review and approve timecards and PTO requests.
  • Complete and deliver disciplinary actions.
  • Review and assess potential candidates.
  • Analyze data to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Prepare and present agenda for departmental meetings.
  • Seek feedback and input from other departments to ensure consistent communication for new processes.
  • Communicate with the firm's Client Support department to monitor and assign incoming cases and ensure appropriate staffing.
  • Regularly communicate with 1800 MedWrecks to ensure timely requests for medical and billing records for efficient case movement.
  • Attend case reviews and work with attorneys to ensure the development of employees and training needs.
  • Utilize FileVine and PowerBI reports to measure and report progress, perform audits, manage priorities, and balance workloads.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities like being reliable, building trust, holding accountability, motivation, and commitment to the success of the team.

 

Qualifications:

  • College degree or comparable management or legal office experience  
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills on the phone, in person and email 
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and critical thinking abilities 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Case Management software (FileVine preferred) 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.  
  • Stand/Sit – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time. 
  • Walk – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc. 
  • Use of hands/fingers to handle or feel – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer. 
  • Climbs stairs – May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.   
  • Carry weight/lift - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
